HERE’S THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

For WISP, TIMBERLINE & CANAAN…. A 50% chance of light snow is likely for today, mainly for the afternoon. Highs will be in the low and middle 20’s. Look for new snow accumulations of about a half inch or less. A 70% chance of snow this evening with little accumulation and a low nearly steady in the low 20’s. More snow for Friday (60%) with temperatures in the upper 20’s. A 30% snow chance sticks around for Saturday and Sunday with highs in the teens.

SNOWSHOE…. . Snow is likely today with up to an inch accumulation possible as temperatures climb into the low 20’s. An 80% snow chance tonight with lows steady in the lower 20’s. Ending the week on Friday with a 50% chance of snow and highs in the upper 20’s. Isolated snow showers Friday night with a high only in the middle teens. Some widely scattered snow showers linger into Saturday morning, with highs only in the middle teens.

WINTERGREEN…. Today will bring a 60% chance of snow, possibly mixed with sleet for the afternoon and a high around 30 degrees. More snow likely with possible accumulations between 2 and 4 inches tonight as temperatures hold nearly steady in the upper 20’s. A few clouds linger into Friday with a high around 40 degrees. More sunshine for Saturday with temperatures in the middle 30’s.

OBER GATLINBURG…. Today’s weather is a mixed bag of snow, freezing rain or rain with temperatures in the low and middle 30’s. Possible snow accumulations will be between 2 and 4 inches. Periods of rain and snow are likely (90%) for tonight with a low around 30 degrees. More wintry mix (30%) for Friday morning, with highs in the upper 30’s and mostly cloudy skies by the afternoon. The weekend begins with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the middle 30’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….
An interesting mix of weather today with periods of snow, possibly mixing with rain or sleet in the afternoon. Accumulations between 2 to 4 inches are possible. Temperatures will warm to around the freezing mark. More of a wintry mix for tonight with steady readings on the mercury around 30 degrees. Temperatures warm up slightly into the middle 30’s to end the week with a 40% chance of snow. Sunshine is back for Saturday with highs in the low 30’s. More sun for Sunday, but much colder, with temperatures in the upper teens.
