HERES’ THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

A good shot at some snow… especially for Christmas night into Tuesday. Until then, a little liquid snow for Christmas Day…

For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN…. A wet Christmas with occasional rain (80%) and highs in the low 40’s. Light rain changing over to light snow overnight with a low around 29 degrees. A morning mix of rain or wet snow for Tuesday morning with highs in the low 30’s. Scattered morning snow showers linger for Wednesday with a high near 30 degrees.

At SNOWSHOE… Some early morning freezing rain possible to start out Christmas, then rain shower chances will be close to 100 percent. Temperatures will climb into the low 40’s. Rain showers mix with and change to light snow Monday night with temperatures in the low 30’s. Occasional snow for Tuesday with a high around 37 degrees. A few lingering flurries for Wednesday with cooler temperatures in the middle 20’s for highs.

WINTERGREEN, VA – Wet weather moves in for Christmas Day, possibly starting out as sleet early. Temperatures warm up into the low 40’s later in the day. A wet Christmas night with lows in the middle 30’s. Rain showers (30%) linger into Tuesday with highs in the upper 40’s. Sunshine is back for Wednesday with a high around 44 degree.

OBER GATLINBURG, TN – Christmas Day will be a wet one with highs in the low 50’s. More showers likely (70%) Monday night with lows in the middle 30’s. Just enough cold air moves in early Tuesday morning for some possible snow showers, then rain showers are back with a high in the upper 30’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

A wet and windy Christmas for the High Country with temperatures in the low and middle 40’s. Winds will blow from the southeast between 15 and 20 mph. Late Monday night, the rain showers (80%) change to light snow as temperatures fall to around 30 degrees. More light snow on Tuesday with temperatures only a degree or two warmer.
