HERES’ THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

The Christmas outlook… we’re chipping away at the heat over the next few days with a secondary shot of cooler air moving in somewhere around the 25th or 26th.

For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN… Starting off the week with clouds and sun with highs in the lower 50’s. Look for scattered showers (40%) with west winds between 10 and 15 mph. Light rain showers tonight possibly mixing and changing briefly to snow early Tuesday with highs only in the low and middle 30’s.

At SNOWSHOE…. A breezy Monday with increasing clouds and highs in the low 50’s. Winds will be from the west around 20 mph. A 50% rain chance tonight changing to light snow showers and flurries for early Tuesday. Highs Tuesday will be in the upper 20’s and lower 30’s.

WINTERGREEN, VA & OBER GATLINBURG, TN – A sunny and mild Monday with highs in the low 60’s. A few clouds will be about it as a cold front sweeps through Monday evening as lows hold in the upper 30’s. By Tuesday, it’s cooler with highs around 50. Sunny and 40’s for Wednesday.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

Sunshine and lower 60’s today out ahead of a cold front that will approach the Southern Appalachians this evening with some clouds on the increase by later tonight. An isolated shower may pop up as temperatures hold in the upper 30’s. Things dry up Tuesday after an early shower (20%). Sunshine is in full swing again by Wednesday with highs in the lower 40’s. Another cold front by Friday, with a 60% rain chance.
