The weather (or lack of cold weather) has forced Hawksnest Resort to postpone an appreciation day that they had planned for Sunday, January 7th. They had originally scheduled it for December 17th, and postponed it until January 7th. Obviously the mild temps and forecast for this weekend has forced Hawksnest to move the date yet again.

Hawksnest plans on honoring the employees of area motels, hotels, restaurants, and the media, working in Watauga, Avery and Ashe counties with free skiing.

“We recognize the tremendous service all the employees in the hospitality and media businesses contribute to our resort’s success and we hope that our  present to them will go a long-way in demonstrating our appreciation,” said Lenny Cottom, owner of Hawksnest.

According to management, Hawksnest will set a date once conditions warrant.
