The thermometer’s around the state of NC have dipped 11° colder this morning than it was yesterday morning. Most of the North Carolina ski resort communities are showing lows in the low 20s this morning. Hawksnest is showing 19°. Ski Beech reported 21° at 6am or so, but as of this post (7:30am) it is now 14.7° at our mountaintop weather station. Sugar’s mountaintop weather station is reporting 14° as well. Wolf Ridge Resort is reporting 24°.

Check the SLOPE CONDITIONS page for more details, and here’s some special notes from around the region:

Appalachian Ski Mountain was still making snow as of 7:30am, but they will have the guns off while ski sessions are in play. Cataloochee and Hawksnest reported that they made snow last night, but the guns are off as of this report. Ski Beech is still making snow this morning and they say that snowmaking will be ongoing as temps allow. Sugar made snow and now have the guns off for day skiing sessions.

As far as we can tell, Wolf Ridge Resort was the only resort that didn’t make snow overnight, but their live webcam actually is showing some amazingly snowy views!

Conditions will be great no matter where you choose to ski or ride in North Carolina today! Highs should be in the 20s and low 30s and that is the forecast from now through Sunday! Great temps with highs in the low 30s (a lot of the daytime temps will be in the 20s) and lows in the teens through Sunday night! That means more snowmaking at night and lots of sunshine and COLD during daytime ski sessions! If you have a trip planned for this weekend, you are in for ONE GREAT WEEKEND of skiing or riding at your favorite hill!

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week look SNOWY!!!
