The slope reports today are about as flip-flop as last night’s game – some are reaping the benefits of snow today (and lots of it), while others are struggling with … something other than snow (how about that?).

Wisp is reporting 4” of natural snow in the past 24 hours with snow still falling this morning.  Wisp has been issued a Winter Storm Warning with an additional 2-4” expected throughout the day.  Canaan Valley and Timberline are under a Winter Storm Warning as well with 6-10 inches of snow expected!  Snowshoe is under a Winter Weather Advisory with 1-5” of snow expected.  The only West Virginia resort I have not mentioned yet is Winterplace.  Unfortunately they are the Broncos for the day and have been issued a Flood Watch.

(I've got to admit, I'm pretty proud of myself for putting that together).

As for our Virginia resorts, Bryce is under a Winter Storm Warning with 3-6” of snow expected.

Massanutten has been issued a Winter Weather Advisory, with 1-3” of snow in the forecast.  Wintergreen is pretty much just hanging out with under developed snow turning into a winter mix at some point today.  The Homestead Resort has been issued a Flood Watch, but is expecting “Heavy Snow” today with 2-4” possible.  Speaking of Homestead, davidski posted a Trip Report from Homestead that is very much worth checking out.

It’s a pretty quiet day down here in North Carolina as well as over in Tennessee for Ober.  More of a wet granular kind of day.

As far as happenings today, the Cupp Run Challenge is going on up at Snowshoe today.  Still a little time to register and the racers meet at the top of Cupp at 10.  I’ve been up at Snowshoe for a Cupp Run Challenge before, as a spectator, and it was a lot of fun.

If you have time today, take a look at the Trip Reports on the message board.  A good number of our members have been traveling about and uploading some good stuff.  Our own Kenny (aka theKENDOG) is off to Wyoming this week and you know he’s going to provide us with a great update upon his return.

Take care out there today!
