Doug Burnett, one of our longtime SkiNC / SkiSoutheast messageboard members, was the first skier of the 2007-2008 season in the Southeast and Mid Atlantic. We know that with certainty because he hit Sugar Mountain on opening day and was greeted at the ticket window and GIVEN a free lift pass!

You can read Doug’s full trail report in the middle column of the front page, but suffice to say that Doug provided some rave reviews of his first day on the slopes for this season!

He also was on the first chair ride to the top, making him the first to lay down some true FIRST TRACKS!

Congratulations to Doug.

We also heard from him that another messageboard member, Wayne Cash hit Sugar and Cataloochee with him on Monday and it sounds like they had a great time.  Be sure to read Doug’s Trail Report and view the photos BY CLICKING HERE.

We want to welcome Kevin Stewart of Snowshoe Mountain to our team of Trail Reporters!  Kevin recently moved up to Snowshoe, WV from Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I spoke with Kevin this morning and the 21 year old from Tennessee told me, "I visited up here a while back with my girlfriend and just fell in love with the place, and I was just looking for more snow and made the decision to move!"

Kevin is now employed in the Village of Snowshoe and as a season pass holder plans to provide some phenomenal images this season.  Thanks for sharing those with our visitors Kevin!
