Cold and Windy Across the NC Mountains – Snowmaking Today and Tonight!

Saturday:  It should be a great day to ski today.  It will colder with the winds, but all in all a nice day.  Wear your goggles because resorts may be taking advantage of snowmaking opportunities since today and tonight may be the only snowmaking chances from now through the next week. Look for Partly cloudy and breezy conditions today. Highs around 32°. West winds 10 to 20 mph today.  Tonight’s low should be around 27°

SundayPartly cloudy in the morning…Then clearing. Breezy. Not as cool with highs around 50°. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, and maybe as high as 45mph as the sun goes down.  Overnight lows should only be around 39°

MondayMostly cloudy and windy, with a very slight chance of a drizzle or two.Highs in the upper 40s West winds 15 to 25 mph.  Overnight lows in the 37° range.

TuesdayMostly cloudy in the morning…Then becoming partly cloudy. Highs in the mid 40s, lows around 35°

Wednesday…may bring another little bout of drizzle with highs around 41° and an overnight low that MIGHT allow for some snowmaking at 32°

There’s plenty of base depth out to weather this non-snowmaking period, so don’t fret for ONE moment.  Conditions should be just fine and with snowmaking and COLD conditions for today expect good conditions through the next several days.

COLDER air and Old Man Winter returns just outside of the seven day forecast so look for a great January of skiing and riding.
