Last night we saw just a trace of snow in only the northern most part of the region. That quickly turned though, as David Lesher of Canaan Mountain Snow writes, “Freezing rain and some sleet overnight as temperatures fell to 29F. Daylight showed a significant ice coating on ground surfaces.”

Speaking of rain, today is a big time transitional day, as Gulf moisture envelops the region entirely.

Tonight though, has a target on its back, as everywhere in the region will not just get below freezing, but below 30F. This means a little mid-week bump for snowmakers as it will put a fresh coat on the slopes . . . for a couple of days.

A record year already for Wisp

  • Wisp: “This has been a record year for snowmaking at Wisp Resort.  The Mountain Ops team pumped out 11 million gallons of water over the weekend, leaving the mountain with a strong base.  Since snowmaking began in the 2018.19 Winter season, we have pumped 164 million gallons!”
    • Tonight: New snow accumulation of less than half an inch possible.
    • Tomorrow: New snow accumulation of around one inch possible.

    • Deal of the Day . . . BOGO Tuesdays
  • Winterplace: Forecast: Cloudy with off an on showers. Dress in layers so you are comfortable and it should be a great day to be on the slopes.”
