Cataloochee to open Saturday Morning

Cataloochee to open Saturday Morning!- We JUST got word from Cataloochee that as of this report it is 29° over there and they are making snow in preparation for the OPENING at 8:30am. They will operate on TWO slopes and for DAY SKIING ONLY…but they are officially open for this weekend!

Beginners Easy Way and Beginners Rabbit Hill serviced by the Easy Way Triple Chairlift on a base of 8-12” and a machine worked surface.

They will also ski Sunday, December 5 for day skiing hours only. IF YOU WANT TO SKI FREE ON SUNDAY READ ON!!!

In conjunction with Haywood Christian Ministries, Cataloochee Ski Area will be sponsoring its 3rd Annual Can-U-Ski Food and Coat Drive on Sunday, December 5. In an effort to help with the increase need for food and warm winter coasts for families seeking assistance through Haywood Christian Ministries, they are asking all Cataloochee skiers and snowboarders to bring at least 6 cans of food or a winter jacket of any size that is in good condition to the ski area on Sunday and you will receive your lift ticket on Sunday for FREE! What a GREAT way to show that you care and get some reward for for yourself too!

Bear in mind that this year, a LOT of people are in need, especially this year when extra help is needed for those folks affected by the floods in our region.

Cataloochee also began making snow at Tube World, their tube park located across from Ghost Town in Maggie Valley and opening day for Tube World in Maggie Valley is planned for Thursday, December 16 at 4pm.

Also note that Cataloochee will not be operating during the week from Monday, December 6 through Friday, December 10, but will reopen for daily operation for the season on Saturday, December 11.
