Snowshoe, WV—Snowshoe Mountain is pleased to announce Frank DeBerry as the resort’s new President and Chief Operating Officer. DeBerry joins the Snowshoe team after spending many years at Mountain Creek Resort, a former Intrawest property located in New Jersey. DeBerry will report directly to Intrawest CEO Bill Jensen.

“I am confident under Frank’s leadership Snowshoe will continue to grow and achieve its full potential,” Jensen said in a release to staff on Friday.

DeBerry joined the Snowshoe team on an interim basis in January and accepted a permanent role on Friday. He will be responsible for the long term strategic planning and all aspects of the resort’s operations, as well as overseeing the resort’s Senior Leadership Team.

DeBerry began his career with Intrawest in 1998 following Intrawest’s purchase of Mountain Creek, where he had served in a variety of operating and leadership roles beginning in 1990. His most recent position was that of President and Chief Operating Officer of Mountain Creek, where he was responsible for leading the senior operating team and staff. During his time in that role he consistently improved the mountain experience for the guests he serviced and this approach has been the hallmark of his leadership throughout his career.

During his tenure at Mountain Creek, the mountain was recognized as an innovative leader in learn-to-ski experiences and in the world of youth-culture driven terrain parks. His leadership at Mountain Creek also helped the resort achieve a variety of financial, guest experience, and employee engagement objectives.

DeBerry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University at Albany in New York. He also attended the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester in New York. He will be relocating to West Virginia with his wife and young daughter.

“In my short time here, it’s been obvious that Snowshoe is a very special place,” DeBerry said following his permanent placement in the role. “I would already put the overall mountain experience here up against anything in the East, and I look forward to joining the team in building upon what’s here today and creating extraordinary experiences for our guests in the future.”
