We know that many of our loyal visitors have been clamoring to find out more about our annual SkiSoutheast/SkiNC summits, so here are the details:

Beech Mountain NC
The SkiNC Summit at Beech Mountain Ski Resort is coming up quickly. February 20, 2010, we’ll be hosting our second annual get-together at Ski Beech. You won’t want to miss the live music and entertainment, or your chance to meet fellow message board members and some of SkiSoutheast’s staff, who will also be attending. Those of you hoping to get your hands on our latest SkiSoutheast apparel will have the opportunity to do so only at the summits, so you’ll have to show up to get hoodies, tees, hats, beanies, and stickers with our newest designs.

The day’s main event, “Shreddin’ the Love,” will benefit the American Cancer Society and Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) and will be full of exciting activities that winter sports enthusiasts won’t want to miss. Slopestyle and Boardercross competitions will be taking place at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. respectively; entry fees are simply a donation to the cause and participants can register in the Beech Tree Bar from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We’re also going to be doing a verbal auction, so make sure you bring your wallet—it’s for a good cause! Those in attendance will be able to bid on great prizes like vacations, season passes, ski and snowboard gear, gift certificates, and more. Kids’ events—including face painting, inflatables, and kids’ ice skating discounts—will take place throughout the afternoon, and those who donate to this worthy cause will get to ice skate for free from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. At 8 p.m., the luminary lighting ceremony will begin, followed by great live entertainment by local musicians Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band and Native Sway, and this exciting event will come to a close with a spectacular fireworks display.

The event’s sponsors will receive free promotion for their donations, and may receive recognition in media promotion, internet advertising on Ski Beech’s site, and two free weekend lift tickets. In addition, their company’s name will appear on event t-shirts.

All in all, this event is sure to be one of the most fun of the season. Not only will you get a chance to meet message board members and SkiSoutheast’s staff, but you’ll get the see or participate in some great competitions at Ski Beech Mountain, bid on fantastic prizes, take part in a raffle specifically for SkiNC members, meet and mingle with other winter sports enthusiasts, and—most importantly—you’ll be benefiting a good cause!

Snowshoe Mountain
On March 5th, 6th, and 7th, our gang will head over to Snowshoe Mountain WV for three days of fun! We’ll kick things off by doing first tracks with Snowshoe’s President, Bill Rock, on Saturday morning before the slopes open up. Those who make the trip will also have the opportunity to get their hands on our latest gear, which will not be available online. You won’t want to miss the private Après-ski party that Snowshoe has been nice enough to provide us with, and everyone who attends will get a FREE lift ticket for Snowshoe Mountain Skiing on Sunday! Not only will we be giving away some of our latest gear, but the person who recruits the most people to join us at the Summit will win a FREE vacation to Snowshoe! It doesn’t get any better than that!

Snowshoe Mountain Resort will be offering special discounts on Snowshoe Mountain Lodging for those who plan to stay more than two nights. Mention the special offer code (which is: MWD100) when you call or make your reservations online and you’ll receive $100 off your stay! The Homegrown Music Festival will also be taking place this weekend, which means there will be plenty of live performances to enjoy. If you love bluegrass, Southern rock, or just live music in general, you won’t want to miss this showcase of authentic Appalachian entertainment.

We hope to see all of our message board members and loyal visitors at both of our summits. We love having the chance to give back to the people who make our sites as successful as they are, so we plan to make each of our summits absolutely unforgettable! Keep checking SkiSoutheast.com for the latest details on the summits, which will be taking place at both Ski Beech and Snowshoe Mountain Resort!
