Plan your Christmas Ski Vacations and New Year's Ski Trips around visiting the High Country village of Blowing Rock NC and head to Appalachian Ski Mtn. Appalachian Ski Mtn will offer skiing and boarding over the holidays and starting December 26th, the resort's special Midnight Blast Weekends begin offering late night skiing on Friday and Saturday Nights. The usual night skiing hours are extended until midnight on these special weekends which last through Presidents Day weekend (February 20th), making Appalachian Ski Mtn the only ski resort in the Southeast to offer late night skiing. Also, during this holiday period, Appalachian Ski Mountain will host its New Year's Eve Extravaganza that locals and visitors to the Blowing Rock Ski Area love, which features night skiing, and fireworks at midnight! Ski Beech Resort, the ski resort with the highest elevation in the Southeast, has plans to host a Christmas Eve Service at Beech Tree Village on Christmas Eve and a fun New Year's Eve party with live music at the Beech Tree and fireworks at midnight. Santa will be at Ski Sugar Resort on Christmas Eve and the resort will feature a special celebration on New Year's Eve with live music from the Terry Batson Band.
