NINE "MIDNIGHT BLAST" WEEKENDS – begins December 26th

Brad Moretz as his gang over at Appalachian Ski Mountain are doing their part to help you get a little more skiing for your buck this coming ski season. Drew Stanley just emailed me that they will offer NINE "Midnight Blast Weekends" beginning Friday and Saturday nights from December 26th through the weekend after President’s Day (February 20th) where they will extend the normal 6pm-10pm ski session to midnight.

Best of all, these extended hours will be offered at no additional cost.  “With challenging economic times, people looking for a good value will discover that this is the best ticket value that we offer, at a time that is actually convenient,” said Appalachian Ski Mtn. General Manager Brad Moretz.

“As the closest ski destination to significant markets within a two hour drive, such as Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, High Point, Hickory, and Gastonia, we feel that Appalachian Ski Mtn. is in the best position to offer many skiers and riders a night option that wouldn’t otherwise be possible without a longer night session.”

Appalachian is the only ski area in the Southeast region to offer late-night skiing.

Fans of the old Hawksnest Ski Resort "Nighthawk" session will no doubt love this new wrinkle.  Hats off to Brad and company for this new bonus skiing time. No doubt that some of my crew will take advantage of that extra time. Before I get a bunch of emails, "yes" I also remember the skiing til 4am that Hawksnest used to offer. That was before the 7 heathen police department began camping out for late nighters exiting the mountain.  There’s no such issues over in Blowing Rock, not to mention that Appalachian is a family resort and doesn’t serve alchohol on the premises.
