We finally have a winter weather pattern that is bringing smiles to the faces or resort operators and skiers alike. Appalachian began making snow Saturday afternoon and they have reopened for the season with one slope for Sunday. However, with the help of Mother Nature and prime snowmaking opportunities ALL of the resorts are making snow and all of them will be opening with more and more terrain as the next couple of days pass.

A lot of areas around the High Country have reported in with up to 6" of snow (particularly around the Tennessee line) while most of the High Country received more like a dusting to 2".

THE COLDEST air of the season is on tap for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with snow showers possible each day and the overnight temps Monday and Tuesday night will be near 10 degrees!

Thanks to Paul Herrin and Peter Larkins for sending in some nice photos. I’ll be updating the site with more asap. I’m working remotely today so updates may not come til late today. Check the ski report for the latest on who made snow, who is open, and when the rest will open.

THINK SNOW!
