After some extraordinarily cold temps for the last few days, we’re seeing a milder trend for a few days with some chances of some underdeveloped snow coming in Thursday night through Saturday early. That looks to be changing over to MORE SNOW and Sunday is looking very snowy! Behind that? We get right back into the freezer with VERY COLD temps and more snow!

Make plans to ski or ride some of the best ski and snowboarding conditions in years!

Snowshoe Mountain – 14° at the base, 25° at the Summit – Packed Powder & Groomed – 56" base – 100% open with all 60 trails, snow tubing, terrain parks, snowmobiling and more! Canaan Valley – 15° – Packed Powder – 20-40" – 100% open with all 39 trails, ice skating, snow tubing and air boarding. Did not make snow.

Timberline Resort – 15° – Packed Powder and 90% groomed – 30-70" – 100% open with all 37 trails (that just happened today!) They also have both terrain parks open and the are making snow in selected areas.

Winterplace Resort – 24° – Groomed and Packed Powder – 40-80" – 100% open with all 28 trails and terrain parks and snow tubing!

Wisp Resort – 12° – Groomed and Granular – 20-58" – 28 of 32 trails open with terrain parks and snow tubing open as well!

Wintergreen Resort – 27° – Groomed – 40-60" – Open with 25 of 26 trails and tubing. Anne Marie Jones writes, "27 degrees at 7AM. Our Mountain is a little warmer this morning, but overall, the first part of this week has been nice and cold. All of the cold weather allowed us to continue pilling up snow on our core trails in anticipation of skiing and riding all the way through to the Slide and Splash Bash on the 21st of March. If you like skiing and riding in March, Wintergreen will have snow for you! The next 4 weekends are packed full of activities: the final Freestyle Double Cross, Slopestyle, Rail Jam and The Slide and Splash Bash! This coming weekend we are saying thanks to our WPI Members and HEAD Pro Skier and Freeride Champion Grete Eliason will be here making turns with guests and helping out with the Freestyle Double Cross. HEAD will provide demos all weekend and the Oakley “O Lab” will be here showing off their products. Live music, great food, Grete here for a visit, great snow, and a great boardercross event, you should come up for some fun!"

The Homestead – 25° – Groomed – Open with 3 of 5 trails and snow tubing. Made snow last night.

Massanutten Resort – 16° – Groomed – 50" base – 100% open with all 14 trails and snowtubing on 8 lanes. No snowmaking last night.

Bryce Resort – 23° – Groomed – 34-59" – 100% open with all 8 trails and snow tubing. No snow making.

Ober Gatlinburg – 41° – Groomed and Loose Granular – 65-100" – 6 of 8 trails open and snow tubing!

Appalachian Ski Mountain – 32° – Groomed – 85-112" – 100% open with all 10 trails, both terrain parks and ice skating. No Snowmaking last night.

Cataloochee Ski Area – 31° – Groomed – 52-104" – 100% open with all 14 trails, and terrain features. No snowmaking. Snow tubing reopens Thursday.

Ski Beech – 32° – Groomed / Frozen Granular – 38-74" – Open with 12 of 15 trails and terrain parks. Tubing and Ice Skating closed until Friday.

Wolf Ridge Resort – 36° – Groomed – 48-68" – Reporting 1" of new snow last night!?!?! We’ll try to verify that. Open with 11 of 20 trails and snow tubing. No snowmaking overnight.

Sugar Mountain – 25° – Manmade & Frozen Granular – 50-100" – 100% open with all 20 trails, terrain park features, snow tubing and ice skating. No snowmaking although their weather stations are reporting lows of 25°. They are reporting snowmaking overnight.
