HERE’S THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

For WISP, TIMBERLINE & CANAAN…. Partly cloudy skies on Thursday with a "heat wave" pushing the mercury up into the middle 30’s. For the overnight period, clouds move in with lows around 20 degrees and a 30% chance of light snow (dusting to a half inch possible). Snow showers will linger into Friday and Saturday with highs in the low and middle 20’s.

SNOWSHOE… Look for a mix of clouds and sun for Thursday with a high around 30 degrees. Clouds are on the increase Thursday night with a 20% chance of light snow developing and lows in the middle teens. More snow showers for Friday (40% chance) with a high in the upper teens. Even colder to kick off the weekend with a 20% chance of light snow and highs in the middle teens.

WINTERGREEN…. Skies becoming mostly cloudy on Thursday with a chance of isolated rain showers mixing with light snow (20%) and a high around 33 degrees. Some light snow Thursday evening, tapering off late with lows in the upper 20’s. Wrapping up the week on Friday with partly cloudy skies and highs in the lower 40’s.

OBER GATLINBURG…. Mostly cloudy for Thursday with a 20% chance of light freezing rain in the morning, switching to spotty drizzle for the afternoon as temperatures rise to around 40 degrees. Clouds move out overnight with lows in the middle 20’s. Warming up in the lower 40’s on Friday with partly cloudy skies… ditto that for Saturday.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

It’s a mixed bag of Winter weather over the High Country on Thursday with a 50% chance of snow and sleet in the morning, possibly some freezing rain as well by the afternoon with highs in the low 30’s. Accumulations will be around a dusting to an inch on average. More snow showers (30%) for Thursday night with temperatures in the lower and middle 20’s. Drying out with partly cloudy skies on Friday, as winds kick up around 20 mph from the west with temperatures in the middle 30’s. Saturday will start off the weekend with sun and clouds, and a high around 35 degrees.
