Ski Resorts Ring in the New Year with Various Celebrations!

Many of the ski resorts are open on New Year's Eve with MORE TERRAIN! Conditions could not be much better across the region with more snow on the way this evening across much of the area!

Here are some New Year's Eve Celebrations that we know you'd like to know about!


New Years Eve Extravaganza
Join us for New Year’s Eve and ring in 2013 in style! Fireworks, torchlight skiing and more. Moonlight ice skating from 10 pm to midnight.

Restaurant Specials also available from 9pm to midnight.



Come celebrate the New Year with Beech Mountain Resort! On Dec. 31, the Beech Tree will open at 8 p.m. for a 21 and up event lasting until 1:30 a.m. The Jonathan Birchfield band will play-in 2013 with his unique mix of country and rock tunes to keep every ear entertained. Tickets will be $10 per person.

Beech Mountain Resort will extend Ice Skating Rink hours until 11 p.m. games and activities for families will be offered in Munchies Arcade


Sugar's New Year's Eve party includes a romantic and beautiful torch light parade at 11:45pm, an extravagant fireworks display at 11:55pm, and live entertainment provided by: "The Johnson Brothers" from 9pm – 1am.

We will be open from 9am until 9pm tonight, skiing and riding on 14 trails with 5 lifts operating.  The ski area closes at 9pm tonight and fireworks begin at 10:30pm.


Happy New Year's Eve! We've expanded over 70 acres and received 3 and a half feet of snow in the last two weeks. Doing several other events as well.


Big Top
Join us this New Year’s Eve for a family fun party! Tickets include a pizza buffet and drinks, a sparkling cider toast, all access to Big Top activities, a magic show, face painting and a dance party! See below for scheduled activities and note children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult and ages 17 and under must have a parent or guardian sign a release.
