MEDIA ADVISORY: GOVERNOR TOMBLIN AND WEST VIRGINIA SKI INDUSTRY OFFICIALS RECOGNIZE JANUARY AS LEARN TO SKI AND SNOWBOARD MONTH IN WV, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2014 AT GOVERNOR’S RECEPTION ROOM

What:

The 2013/2014 ski season has gotten off to a great start for the West Virginia Ski Industry with favorable weather conditions and visitation is strong this season. Nationally, January is Learn To Ski and Snowboard Month and the West Virginia Resorts, thanks to Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, have participated in on the month long event.  The Governor on Wednesday will be proclaiming through his office, that January has been officially Learn To Ski and Snowboard Month in West Virginia.  West Virginia Ski Resorts are coming off a very strong Martin Luther King Holiday weekend, one of the most important periods of the season. The national promotion is designed to attract new skiers and snowboarders into a sport which will help the state’s resorts grow.

When/Where:

The news conference will be held at Governor’s Reception Room 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 22, 2014.

 

Details:

All of the West Virginia Ski Industry along with state tourism officials will be on hand for the event and will be available for interviews after the news conference.
