It may only be July 4th weekend, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early to start preparing for the upcoming winter. Everyone knows that summer is the best time of year to find great deals on ski and snowboard gear and apparel. I know I’ve been searching around lately looking for bargains on the internet.  Well, if you’re in the High Country this weekend then you are in luck.  Starting today, Alpine Ski Center is having a weekend long clearance sale at the Sugar Mountain location.

Powderhounds who stop in will find severely discounted ski boots and bindings from numerous brands.  There are also 90 plus pairs of demo skis that are being offered at 50-75% off the retail price.  Snowboarders will find boards, boots, and bindings on sale for 35-60% off.  I saw this past year’s Ride DH snowboard on sale for nearly half off.  That’s a really, really good deal and I probably would have purchased it had they had one in my size.  I’m pretty short, what can I say.

If you’re not ready to purchase winter gear yet, they also have men’s and women’s summer wear on sale.  I ended up buying a pair of some pretty cool Reef boardshorts that were on sale for something like 65% off.

<<<There is a ton of gear and apparel, both summer and winter, to choose from right now from major brand names.  Inside, you’ll find even more ski and snowboard gear!

Myself and some of my co-workers all ended up buying something when we went up there earlier today.  Two of us bought some board shorts and the other bought a brand new Giro helmet which was discounted at over 50%.  There is a ton of stuff on sale from well known brands such as Burton, Ride, K2, Spyder, The North Face, Quiksilver, Roxy, and many others.  So if you’re looking for a brand new setup for this upcoming winter, definitely head on over there this weekend.

Check out their site at www.alpineskicenter.com for more info.  The Sugar Mountain store is located near the entrance of the resort.  When coming from Boone, you’ll see it on the left side of the road right before the entrance.  There are a few tents out front, you can’t miss it.
