2014 Beech Mountain Resort Downhill Series

Beech Mountain Resort and a team of sponsors, including Cane Creek, Skull Candy, Smith, Dakine, 661, One Industries, Magic Cycles, Giant, The Beech Mountain Brewing Co., and Shimano, are excited to present the 2014 Downhill Series.

Held on three different weekends, 100-200 downhill mountain bike riders are expected to race at Beech Mountain Resort Bike Park – the highest elevation bike park featuring lift access on the East Coast.

Spectators will enjoy wild downhill action and new amenities throughout the resort, including scenic lift rides, the Beech Tree Bar and Grille, open exclusively during the summer, and two exciting, new drinks and dining locations – the Skybar "5506," located at the peak of the mountain, and the new Beech Mountain Brewing Co. Brewery.

    * July 19th and 20th will be part of the PRO GRT series and run in conjunction with "Brews N Views," an annual festival at Beech Mountain Resort.

    Racers will compete in the following categories: Pro Men/Women; Women Open; Men 19-29 CAT 1,2 ,3; Men 30-39 CAT 1, 2, 3; Masters 40+; Juniors 18 and Under; and Juniors 12 and Under.

    The mountain bike trails cover a wide range of skill levels and are currently being expanded. Everyone from elite riders to first timers are welcome to ride and participate. A Beginner-Friendly track will be available for the racers in the 12 and under category.

    Lodging Specials for mountainside accommodations are available to racers, and for the first time, camping will be prohibited.
